DRL LED Module & RGB Upgrade Installation GuideUpdated 7 days ago
Applicable for DRL Module Replacement & RGB LED Integration
Tools Required
T15 Torx screwdriver
Ratchet wrench
Trim removal tool
10mm socket or wrench
Heat gun
Microfiber towel
Step 1: Preparation
Disconnect the Vehicle Battery
Use a 10mm socket or wrench to disconnect the negative terminal of your battery to avoid electrical shorts during installation.
Locate the DRL Modules
Find the Daytime Running Light (DRL) modules on your headlight housings.
Their location may vary depending on your vehicle model—typically on the top, back, or bottom of the headlight units.
Step 2: Remove DRL Modules and Boards
Use a T15 Torx screwdriver to remove the screws securing the DRL modules to the headlight housings.
Disconnect the wiring connectors from the DRL LED boards.
Carefully set the modules aside in a safe place.
Step 3: Separate the LED Boards from the Module
Use a heat gun to warm up the rear of the DRL module where factory adhesive is applied.
This softens the paste and makes removal easier.
Using a trim tool, gently pry up the edges of the LED board to separate it from the module housing.
Be careful not to crack the board or damage the module.
Step 4: Install New DRL LED Boards
Clean the Module Housing
Scrape off any old adhesive residue and wipe clean with a microfiber towel.
Apply Thermal Adhesive or Heat Sink Glue
Spread an even layer of thermal glue on the back of the new DRL LED board.
Do not over-apply to avoid glue leaking onto circuit components.
Let the glue cure for at least 15 minutes before continuing.
Step 5: Reinstall DRL Modules
Once the adhesive is cured and the boards are firmly in place:
Reconnect the LED board connectors.
Secure the modules back onto the headlight housing using the T15 Torx screws.
Reconnect the vehicle battery and switch the DRL setting to ON to test:
DRL lighting function
Blinker/indicator functionality
For RGB DRL Users: Continue to Steps 6–7
Step 6: Install RGB Wiring Harness
On the driver’s side headlight, unplug the main headlight connector.
Connect the included RGB harness adapter:
One end goes to the original headlight plug
The other end connects to the RGB DRL LED control module (small black box)
Use the interconnect harness (with two small white connectors) to bridge both headlight modules.
Plug each end into the corresponding control boxes on both driver and passenger sides.
Once connections are complete, reconnect the vehicle battery and turn the DRL switch ON inside your vehicle to test RGB functions.
Step 7: Configure RGB with MAGICSTRIP App
Download the MAGICSTRIP app (purple icon) from the App Store or Google Play.
Open the app and tap the menu icon (☰) in the top-left corner.
Your RGB DRLs should appear in the device list. Tap to connect via Bluetooth.
You can now control:
Color selection
Lighting modes
Brightness and speed adjustments
Installation Complete!
Enjoy your upgraded DRLs with full RGB customization. Make sure to test all light modes and confirm secure installation before driving.
